We Believe in preserving the integrity of the places we visit.
Respect
We are very passionate about preservation and therefore have highest respect for the different cultures, native environments, resources of the sea and rivers of the places we visit or organise tours.
Wherever we go we try to leave as small a footprint as we can while supporting the local economies in our small way. We are therefore very strict about enforcing the terms and conditions of our tours with regard to behaviour of guests on our tours.
Educational Experience
We plan our tours to be rich educational experiences while making it fun and enjoyable for all participants including, of course, the people in the host communities.
It is a 2-way thing. Most of the locals we meet will never have the opportunity to travel abroad like we do. It is therefore important that we visitors (their guests) honour and respect them and show them the best side of our own societies.
This is what New Places Tours is all about – an interaction between cultures to foster better understanding.
The driving force of our company is Erma Yunita (we call her Nita), a graduate of Indonesian Literature, a tour guide and organiser of tours to the Holy Lands, USA as well as within Indonesia. In her youth, she enjoyed trekking up mountains in Indonesia and working in her family farms and ricefields.
She loves nature and animals, has green fingers and knows Indonesia inside-out.
